Workstation: Pentium (equivalent or better ) 2400 MGhz  or faster; 1024 МВ RAM; 20 GB HDD; monitor with screen resolution 1024х768 and Hi-color (16 bit) or higher; one, two or more RS232 ports for connection to RS232 printers, fiscal devices, card readers, card encoders, telephone exchanges, or other interfaces.

Network specifications: 

• Clock Evolution Server 2011 requires Internet connection (http, https, RMI) to secure.clockbs.com for istallations, the monthly update of the license key and the automated regular system updates. Proxy servers are not supported.

• 100 Mbit TCP / IP LAN stable connection; open servers 3050, 3051 and 3010 TCP ports. The content of the shared folders must be accessible from all workstations. 
• Working in CRS (Central Reservation System) mode requires at least 4Mbit internet connection between the hotels. 
• Clock Evolution requires at least 512 Kbit TCP channel (1 Mbit recommended)
• Multiple users of the same database via internet require terminal server. Each user works in a separate session. The terminal connection is optimized and the systems operate flawlessly even in cases of slower internet connection. 

Note

• Server variant 1 is not recommended for systems operating in replication mode and multiple transactions using remote access.
• The server should not be used as a workstation.
• CD-RW drive is recommended for daily database backup created by the automatic archiver on the server. This ensures the restoring of the normal operability of the system in cases of HDD errors. 
• The USB drive required on the server is used for the hardware licensing of the software.

 

Incompatibility with other software products

Incompatibility with other software products using Interbase or Firebird database is possible. Such may be accounting systems Ajur L, Santa, or other hotel or restaurant software.

To check the compatibility of such software with the products of CLock Hotel Software, please contact Clock HS Customer Care centre.

In cases of incompatibility,  Clock HS products need a separate server. 

To minimize expenses, a virtual server software can be installed on the existing hardware server. Thus all that is necessary is an additional Windows license and probably RAM, for meeting the requirements above. 

The virtual environment can be provided by the free VirtualBox or any other alternative. The only requirement is that it supports USB.

Please note that VirtualBox Open Source Edition (OSE) does not support  USB and cannot be used!
